empirio.ai is a modern survey tool that lets you create professional surveys in just a few steps. The focus is on ease of use, attractive design, and data protection with data processing in the EU. Whether in a company, at school, at university, or during your studies: with empirio.ai you can quickly plan, design, and publish surveys — even without any technical background.

You can create an account with empirio.ai in just a few steps. Go to empirio.ai and choose one of the available sign-up options. You can either enter your email address and receive a sign-in link, or sign in directly with your Google account. A password is not required. Both sign-in methods automatically create your empirio.ai account. After that, you’ll be taken straight to your dashboard, where you can create your first survey for free.

You have three options for creating your survey: you can create a survey with AI, use a template, or start with a blank survey. The easiest option is to start with AI. Briefly describe what your survey should be about, and empirio.ai will automatically generate a complete survey for you. You can then customize it in the editor. Alternatively, you can select a ready-made template and use it as the basis for your own survey. This is especially helpful if you want to get started quickly or are looking for inspiration for suitable questions. If you already know exactly how your survey should be structured, you can also start with a blank survey and define all questions, answer options, logic, and design settings yourself. All three paths lead to the same editor. There you can continue editing, designing, and publishing your survey at any time.

empirio.ai can be used internationally and supports multiple languages. The following languages are currently available: * German * English * Spanish * Italian * French * Dutch

You can change the language of empirio.ai in two places. If you’re not logged in, use the language switcher in the top navigation bar. This lets you quickly adjust the website’s language. If you’re logged in, open your settings and select your preferred language under Language and Region. This setting is permanently saved for your account. The change is applied immediately in the dashboard and the survey tool, and it also applies to your future use.

Yes. Protecting your data is a top priority at empirio.ai. All data is stored in the EU, so you can create your surveys with data privacy in mind and a good feeling. This also makes empirio.ai suitable for sensitive areas of use such as companies, schools, universities, and scientific projects.

empirio.ai is the successor to empirio and was launched in 2026. Since 2018, empirio has primarily supported students in creating surveys for academic papers. Over time, however, the platform was increasingly used by companies, schools, and universities as well. That’s why we completely redesigned and expanded our survey software and optimized it for new areas of application. With empirio.ai, not only students but also teams, organizations, and educational institutions can now create modern surveys. In addition, empirio.ai offers multiple languages so that surveys can easily be conducted beyond the German-speaking world.

empirio has grown significantly in recent years. The platform was originally developed primarily for students in Germany. Over time, however, more and more users from other fields and countries joined — including companies, schools, and universities. To ensure that empirio can be used consistently on an international level in the future, we have further developed the platform, and empirio.de has become empirio.ai. The new name stands for a modern, international survey platform that remains easy to use while offering significantly more possibilities: new features, multiple languages, a redesigned interface, and AI-powered support for creating surveys.

If you already had an account with the previous empirio, your existing surveys will of course remain accessible. Simply log in via empirio.ai. After logging in, you’ll find a note about the transition in your dashboard. From there, you can go directly to the previous empirio platform, where you can continue to manage, edit, and analyze your existing surveys. From now on, you’ll create new surveys directly in empirio.ai.

If you had a Plus membership in the old empirio and also want to unlock premium features on empirio.ai, you’ll need to purchase a new membership specifically for empirio.ai. The plans are not transferred automatically. Simply cancel your membership in the old empirio, sign up again on empirio.ai, and you’ll be ready to go with your new surveys. Annual memberships can be transferred by our support team. Just send us a short email.

You briefly describe what the survey should be about. For example: “Employee survey on the topic of working from home, focusing on satisfaction and suggestions for improvement.” The more specific you are, the better the result. The AI then creates a complete questionnaire from this, with suitable question types, a logical order, and both a welcome and a closing page. You can then adjust the draft in the editor, add to it, or remove questions. If you really don’t like the result, just generate it again. It doesn’t cost anything. You can get started right from the homepage or via the dashboard under “Create survey,” where you can select the AI option.

Three things help: *Describe your goal: What do you want to know in the end? *Name your target group: employees, customers, students, club members? *Give the context: Is it a one-time survey, feedback after an event, an academic study? The more context you give, the more precisely the AI can build the questionnaire. “Survey about the summer party” works. “Survey for our club’s summer party to ask about date preferences, food wishes, and willingness to help” works better. This information is stored in the survey and can be updated at any time with the AI assistant in the editor under “Personalize AI”.

Yes. You can have the AI create initial surveys for you on empirio.ai even without signing up. Just go to our homepage and enter a few details about your survey. The AI will then generate an initial questionnaire that you can easily customize (design, type of survey, etc.). You can repeat this process as many times as you like until you’re happy with the survey. However, as soon as you want to customize the questionnaire in our editor (add questions, delete content, etc.) or actually send it out, you’ll need to create an account. Our survey tool saves the survey you created right away, so you won’t have to start from scratch after signing up. So yes, you can create an online survey with empirio.ai without registering and free of charge. But as soon as you want to actually use the survey, registration is required.

No. Creating a survey with empirio.ai is completely free. You can create as many surveys as you like, add as many questions as you want, and fine-tune your questionnaire for as long as it takes until it’s just right. In some places you’ll find premium features that let you further optimize your survey. You can also try these out freely in the editor – they’re clearly marked as premium. You only incur costs once you want to publish a survey that contains active premium elements. For that, you’ll need a suitable plan. Prefer to stick with the free version? No problem. You can deactivate premium features with a single click – and your survey will go online as usual, completely free of charge.

empirio.ai offers all the question types you need for a modern survey – from single choice and multiple choice to scales, NPS questions, matrix questions, star ratings, open-ended text questions, and even date and file upload questions. Which type fits when? Rule of thumb: If you want clear, comparable answers, use closed questions (single/multiple choice, scale). If you want genuine opinions and unexpected insights, include open-ended text questions. A mix usually works best.

In the editor, you can add questions with a single click, move them via drag and drop, duplicate, or delete them. All changes are saved automatically, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. If you accidentally delete a question, you can undo the last step.

To enable the AI assistant to make the best possible suggestions in the editor, you should— in addition to the initial prompt at the beginning—gradually upload more information about the survey: Who is your target audience? How should the questions be phrased? etc. This helps the AI assistant understand your survey project better and better and provide improved suggestions.

There’s AI for exactly these kinds of cases. Simply tell the AI assistant what you want done and it will get to work. Before any changes are applied, you can review them and specify which ones should be carried out and which ones shouldn’t. Example: Do you want to change all questions from the formal “Sie” to the informal “du” in the salutation? Do you want to add “No answer” as a response option to all questions? The AI assistant supports you precisely with these tasks and performs such changes in seconds.

Yes. For every question you can set whether answering it is mandatory or optional. Mandatory questions are clearly marked for your respondents so they know where they can’t move on without answering. To do this, go to the editor on the right-hand side and click the “gear” icon for the respective question. A dialog will open where you can define the question as mandatory. Tip: Don’t make all questions mandatory. That noticeably reduces the dropout rate.

Yes. You can insert images directly into answer options—for example, to have products, designs, or logos compared. You can also include images in short descriptive texts between questions. All common formats are supported. When uploading, pay attention to any file size limitations. Videos cannot be uploaded at this time. Of particular interest for companies: you can also always upload a logo so that the survey reflects the company’s corporate design as closely as possible (together with the questionnaire’s color settings).

Yes, that’s called logic. You can define that certain questions are only shown if a specific answer was given before. That way, your respondents only see what’s relevant to them – which makes the survey shorter, more focused, and more pleasant. Example: Anyone who states in the first question that they don’t own a car won’t receive any follow-up questions about car brands.

Yes. The order of the answer options can be randomized—that is, shown in different sequences for different participants. This is especially important for scientific surveys because it avoids order effects and improves data quality.

We have many modern design templates that look great right from the start. You can easily customize them in the survey editor at the click of a button. You can then also make the following adjustments: *Adjust colors – to match your corporate design or simply however you like. *Add your logo – visible on every survey page. All designs are automatically responsive. That means your survey works on desktop, tablet, and smartphone without you having to do anything.

Yes. For every survey on empirio.ai you can create a welcome page and an end page – and you can design both however you like. On the welcome page, you bring your respondents on board: What is the survey about? How long will it take? Are the answers anonymous? A good introduction leads to more participation and fewer dropouts. On the end page, you say goodbye. A simple “Thank you” always works – but you can also add further links, point to a prize draw, or invite people directly to the next activity. Both pages support text, headings and (on the end page) links. If you prefer to keep things simple, you can deactivate the welcome page and just leave the end page as it is – that works too.

In the editor, you’ll find the Publish button in the top right corner. One click – and your survey is live. You’ll immediately receive a participation link that you can share however you like. Before you click “Publish”, it’s worth doing a quick check in the preview: Are all the questions correct? Does the logic work? Does the survey look good on a smartphone? Once everything fits, you’re ready to go.

You have several ways to get your survey out to people: Via link: You can place the participation link anywhere – in emails, WhatsApp messages, Slack channels, newsletters, or social media posts. Via QR code: We automatically generate a QR code for your survey. Perfect for posters, flyers, table displays, or presentations. Via embedding: You can embed your survey directly on your website. Respondents then stay on your site instead of being redirected to an external survey page. Via social media: With one click, you can share your survey on the most common platforms. Via email: empirio.ai also lets you send emails directly through the survey tool. You can design the email and upload a list of recipients. Your invitation/reminder will then be sent at the time you specify. Which method is best depends on your target group. For an employee survey, the link via email is usually enough. For public feedback, a QR code or embedding is a good choice.

Yes. You can pause your survey at any time by clicking “deactivate” – new visitors will then see an information message, but existing responses will be preserved. When you reactivate the survey later, everything will continue just as before.

In the Share tab, empirio.ai automatically generates a QR code that points to the public link for your survey. Click the download button to save the QR code as an image file and use it in printed materials, posters, flyers, or presentations. When scanned with a smartphone camera, the survey opens directly in the browser.

Simply upload a CSV file with your recipients’ email addresses in the “Share” tab. Write your own subject line and message text, and schedule the mailing to be sent immediately or at a later time. empirio.ai sends the emails and shows you who opened the invitation and who completed the survey.

In the "Share" tab, open the "Access restriction" submenu and create access codes for your survey. Participants will then only be able to open the survey using one of these codes. Without a valid code, access is blocked, which makes this ideal for closed panels, paid studies, confidential research, or employee surveys, since multiple participations with the same code are also not possible.

Yes, but please be careful: this can distort your results if responses have already been submitted. Previous participations will, however, remain saved. In the evaluation, the new questions/answers will then be listed in addition. Important: The changes to the survey are only applied once you click "Update." Before that, you can calmly make all your changes and the distributed survey will remain unchanged.

In the dashboard, open the menu of any survey and select "Duplicate" to create an exact copy as a new draft. The copy includes all questions, logic, and design settings, but no responses or invitation history. This way, you can reuse a proven template within seconds for a follow-up study or a new target audience.

Yes. You can specify exactly when your survey goes live and when it should automatically end. Outside of this time period, visitors will see a message indicating that the survey is not active. You can easily define the time period under "Share."

As soon as the first responses come in, you’ll find them in your survey under “Results” – for each individual survey. You don’t have to update anything manually: new responses appear automatically in real time as soon as someone clicks “Submit.”

empirio.ai automatically creates a complete analysis – you don’t have to build any tables, draw charts manually, or open Excel. For each question, you can see at a glance: * Charts tailored to the question type – bar charts, pie charts, scale distributions, or word clouds for open-ended responses (under the “Charts” tab). * Key figures such as number of responses, averages, means, or standard deviations (under the “Analysis” tab). * Individual responses, if you want to look at the raw data (under the “Responses” tab). * All results can be exported at any time. If you want to dig deeper, you’ll also find filters and comparison features. If you just need a quick overview, you’ll get that too – without having to click through menus.

Yes. In addition to the classic charts, the AI can also give you a summary of your most important insights on request – in clear, easy-to-understand German, without any statistics jargon. This is especially useful for open-ended text questions: instead of reading 200 free-text responses one by one, you get a compact overview of the most common topics, sentiments, and notable patterns. Of course, the original texts are still available – you decide how deep you want to go. You’ll find the AI evaluations under "KI-Assistent"; there you can use the chat to have the key results summarized and also ask follow-up questions. You’ll find the AI free-text analyses under "Analyse".

Yes. You can filter your evaluation using any criteria you like – for example, only show responses from people who checked “yes” for a particular question. To do this, go to “Charts” and then “Responses” and filter by the corresponding answers. For deeper analysis, you can also compare two groups of responses directly with each other: How did women respond compared to men? How do people under 30 differ from those over 50? This way you gain insights that would be lost in the overall results. To do this, go to “Charts” and then “Compare” and select the so-called segmentation (e.g. the question about gender). After that, all charts are displayed side by side with respect to gender, giving you a perfect evaluation.

Yes. In addition to the overall analysis, you can also view each individual response under “Responses” – so you can see exactly what participants answered. This is handy if you want to follow up on an interesting statement or need qualitative evaluations. For surveys, you only see the responses themselves – you don’t receive any data about the participants (unless you explicitly asked for it). But then it wouldn’t be an anonymous survey anymore, and that’s not recommended.

Yes. You can export your responses (raw data) and the completed analyses (charts) in several formats: * Excel/CSV for your own analyses or further editing. * PDF/PPT for reports, presentations, or archiving. * SPSS for scientific analyses using statistical software. * Images (PNG) for directly inserting charts into reports. * JSON for raw data – often suitable for developers. The exports can be opened with all common office programs.

For as long as you need them. There is no automatic deletion – your data will remain in your account until you delete it yourself or remove the survey. When you delete surveys or individual responses, the data will be permanently deleted after a short delay. You can find more information in the Terms and Conditions. If you want to archive responses permanently, it’s best to export them as a CSV or PDF and save them locally. That way, you’re not dependent on online access.

Yes. You can remove individual responses from your evaluation at any time—for example, obvious spam responses or test entries that slipped in by mistake. You can also delete all responses from a survey at once if you want to start completely from scratch. Note: Deleted responses are gone and cannot be restored. You can delete responses in the “Evaluate” section under “Responses.” If you want to delete individual responses, you can scroll to the right and click the “trash can” icon for the corresponding response to delete it. All responses at once can be deleted using the red button (“Danger zone”) at the very bottom.

Yes. With empirio.ai you can invite other people to your surveys and work together on questionnaires, designs, and analyses. This is handy when you’re planning surveys as a team, coordinating them, or analyzing them together—for example, HR and management for an employee survey, or students working on a joint research project. This feature is available starting with our Plus plan (3 additional people). With the Pro plan, you can invite up to 5 additional people.

That depends on your plan: Plus: You can invite up to 3 additional users. Pro: You can invite up to 5 additional users. You yourself don’t count here – the limits refer to extra people you bring into your surveys. Need more seats? Just send us a quick message – we’ll find a solution.

In three steps: Open the survey you want to work on together and click “Share” > “Collaborate.” Enter the email address of the person you want to invite. We’ll automatically send out an invitation. As soon as the person accepts the invitation via email, they’ll have access to the survey and can collaborate on it.

Not necessarily. If the person doesn’t have an account yet, they can create one right when they accept the invitation—free of charge and in just a few seconds. Only then will they gain access to the shared survey.

If the person you invited doesn’t receive an email, it’s worth checking their spam folder first. If it doesn’t show up there either, you can simply resend the invitation from the editor. Please also take a moment to check that the email address is spelled correctly—based on experience, that’s the most common source of errors.

Invited people have full access to the shared survey when they are given the role of “Editor.” This means they can add or change questions, adjust the design, test the survey, and view the results. Good to know: Any changes are immediately visible to everyone. So if you’re working on a survey as a team, it’s worth briefly coordinating who does what—so you don’t accidentally get in each other’s way. If you only want to grant read-only rights, simply select “Viewer” when sending the invitation. That way, the other person can open the survey but can’t make any changes.

Yes. Multiple people can be in the editor at the same time and work on different parts of the survey. All changes are automatically saved in real time. Everyone can also see whether they are currently editing the survey and which part they are working on. Tip: To avoid accidentally editing the same question at the same time, quickly coordinate with each other or divide up the tasks in a sensible way (for example: one person takes care of the questions, another handles the design).

In the "Share" > "Collaboration" section, you’ll see an overview of everyone who currently has access to your survey. With a single click, you can revoke access at any time—immediately and without further confirmation. After that, the person will no longer be able to open or edit the survey.

Yes. Collaboration works at every stage of your survey – whether you’re still fine-tuning the concept, about to launch, or already analyzing the results. Invited collaborators can also make changes and view results after the survey has been published.

Yes. You can use empirio.ai for free, and we honestly believe that our free plan is an absolutely top-notch offer. You can use many AI features for creating and editing your survey without limits, all free designs are noticeably more modern than with many other survey tools, and the standard setup already gives you a GDPR-compliant solution. Only when you want to survey more than 50 participants with your questionnaire or need more advanced features is an account upgrade required.

We offer three plans: Standard is free and will always stay free. You can create as many surveys as you like, add as many questions as you want, and analyze the responses – with no hidden costs. Lite gives you upgrades mainly for the questionnaire itself. You can use new designs and set up logic. Plus unlocks premium features that take your surveys to the next level. This includes collaboration with up to 3 additional users. It’s especially useful for in-depth AI-powered analyses and company-wide surveys (with your own corporate design). Pro is the plan for anyone who wants the full package – including all premium features and collaboration with up to 5 additional users. It’s particularly suited for demanding survey projects. You can find a detailed overview of all features and prices on our pricing page.

Creating surveys is and will remain free of charge. You only need a Plus or Pro plan once you actively want to use premium features. You can find the current prices and all details at any time on our pricing page. There you can also see which features are included in which plan.

You can try out all premium features in the editor for free and fine-tune your questionnaire for as long as you like. They’re clearly marked as premium so you can keep track of everything. You only have to pay once you actually publish a survey that uses active premium features. At that point, you’ll need a suitable plan. Prefer to stick with the free version? You can deactivate premium elements with a single click – and your survey will go online as a normal, free survey. Premium features that are not part of the editor (e.g. exporting responses, AI-based analyses, and team collaboration) must be activated in advance. These cannot be tested beforehand.

We offer all major payment methods. You can conveniently pay by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, Link, Klarna, or SEPA direct debit. Naturally, the entire process is completely secure.

Yes, automatically. After each payment, we’ll send you a proper invoice by email. You can also find your invoices at any time in your account under “Billing” to download. Need an invoice with your company name and VAT ID? In the settings, you can save your billing address – it will then automatically appear on all future invoices.

Yes, anytime – both upgrading and downgrading. Upgrade: If you switch to a higher plan, the new features are activated immediately. We calculate it to the exact day, so you only pay the price difference for the remaining days in your current billing period. Downgrade: You can switch to a lower plan for the next billing period or go back to the free plan entirely. The prorated amount from your previous invoice will be credited and offset against the following billing period.

In your settings under “Billing” you’ll find a button to cancel your plan. With just a few clicks, you can cancel it effective at the end of the current billing period. Until the end of the paid period, you can continue to use all premium features as usual. After that, your account will automatically switch to the free standard plan.

As long as your membership is active, nothing will change. You can continue to use all premium features as usual until your paid period ends. Only after that will your account automatically switch to the free standard plan. Of course, all your surveys will remain fully available to you and will continue running without any extra work on your part (participants can therefore continue to take part in the survey). You can still open them, view them, and analyze the results. If your survey uses premium features that are not included in the standard plan (for example, higher participation limits), it may happen that you can’t see new participants once you exceed the response limit. Tip: If you want to get back to full functionality later, one click is all it takes: reactivate your plan and all features will be available again immediately.

Just drop us a message – we’re happy to hear from you. If you realize that the premium plans from empirio.ai don’t quite fit your needs after all, we’ll work together to find a solution that feels right for you. To be honest, we think that will rarely be the case. But if it does happen, it’s important to us that you never feel stuck with a tool you don’t like. We want you to enjoy working with empirio.ai – and if that’s ever not the case, we’ll talk it through.

If you had a Plus membership in the old empirio (empirio.de), it will continue there – but it won’t be transferred to empirio.ai automatically. If you want to unlock premium features here as well, you’ll need a new plan on empirio.ai. Do you have an annual membership in the old empirio? Then just get in touch with our support – we can transfer the remaining value to empirio.ai.

You have two ways to sign in: Via email link: Enter your email address and we’ll send you a sign-in link. Click the link and you’re in. No password needed. Via Google account: With one click, you sign in using your existing Google account. Fast, secure, no extra details required. Both options work the same. Just choose the one that’s most convenient for you.

Because it’s safer and easier. Passwords get forgotten, reused, or leaked. With the login link via email or Google sign-in, you completely avoid these risks—and you don’t have to remember anything.

In your account under “Settings,” you can change your email address. Enter a new email address and you’ll be able to update it right away.

Very secure – and you can increase the security even further. By default, login works via magic link or Google, and both methods are considered more secure than traditional passwords. If you want to be extra safe, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in your account settings. With that, you’ll need an additional code from an authenticator app when signing in – even if someone had access to your emails, they still wouldn’t be able to get into your account.

In your account, go to "Settings" > "Security" and click on "Enable two-factor authentication." We’ll guide you step by step through the setup using an authenticator app of your choice (for example, Google Authenticator). Important: Save the backup codes we show you during setup. If you ever lose your smartphone, you can still access your account with them.

In the European Union. All surveys, responses, and account data are stored on servers within the EU – this means they are subject to the GDPR and protected from access by third countries.

In your account under “Settings” you’ll find the “Delete account” button. With one click you start the deletion process – for security reasons you’ll need to confirm the deletion. Important: Deleting your account will also permanently remove all surveys, responses, and analyses. If you want to keep any data, export it before deleting your account. You can find more information about deletion periods in our Terms and Conditions.

They will be deleted together with your account – including all responses and analyses collected so far. Any ongoing surveys will also be deactivated so that no new responses can be submitted. If you want to back up any data, be sure to export it before deleting your account. After deletion, we cannot restore the data – not even upon request.

At empirio.ai, AI isn’t a marketing sticker – it’s a core part of the tool. You use it in four places: When creating: Describe in one sentence what you want to find out – the AI builds a complete questionnaire for you. When editing: With the AI assistant, you optimize your questionnaire at the push of a button – add, rephrase, or delete questions, and adjust answer options. When translating: Entire questionnaires can be automatically translated into other languages. Very handy for international surveys. When analyzing: The AI summarizes open-ended responses, categorizes them, and answers your questions about the results – via chat, in natural language.

That depends on which AI feature you want to use. We’ve deliberately spread the AI features across all plans so everyone gets something out of it – even with the free Standard plan. Free in the Standard plan: All AI features for creating and editing your questionnaire. Plus plan: AI features for analysis – meaning automatic summaries of open-ended responses and the AI chat for in-depth analyses. Pro plan: Automatic translation of entire questionnaires into other languages. You can find a detailed overview of all AI features and prices on our pricing page.

More than you might think. Our free standard plan includes all the AI features you need to create and edit: Create questionnaires via prompt: Describe in a few sentences what you want to find out – the AI will build a complete questionnaire for you. AI assistant in the editor: With a single click, add, rephrase, delete questions or adjust entire sections – without typing yourself. AI personalization: Give the AI context about your company, your project, or your target audience so its suggestions fit you better. You can also upload entire documents (e.g., "Create a survey for me that I’ve already roughly outlined in Excel"). Meaning: You can set up your entire survey with full AI support without paying a cent. You only need a paid plan for analysis (Plus) and for automatic translations (Pro).

No, not at all. At empirio.ai, AI is an option – not an obligation. You can just as easily build your surveys completely on your own (blank survey) or start with a ready-made template and edit it as usual in our modern drag & drop editor. You can also do the analysis in the classic way using charts, filters, and exports without using the AI chat. The AI features are there to take work off your hands if you want them to. If you prefer to do things yourself – no problem. You decide how much AI support you use.

You briefly describe what it should be about – for example: “Employee survey on the topic of working from home, focusing on satisfaction and suggestions for improvement.” From that, the AI creates a complete questionnaire in just a few seconds, with suitable question types, a logical order, and both a welcome and a closing page. You can then freely customize the draft in the drag & drop editor: adjust it, add to it, or delete individual questions. If you don’t like the result at all, just generate a new one. It doesn’t cost anything.

Three things help: * Goal: What do you want to know in the end? * Target group: Who will be surveyed – employees, customers, students, club members? * Context: Is it a one-time survey, event feedback, or an academic study? Rule of thumb: The more context, the better the result. “Survey for the summer party” works. “Survey for our club’s summer party to ask about date preferences, food wishes, and willingness to help” works better.

The AI assistant is your co-pilot when editing. Instead of making every change manually, you simply tell the AI what it should do. Examples: "Add 5 questions about work-life balance." "Make the answer options shorter." "Rewrite the question in simpler language." "Replace the single-choice question with a scale." "Change the form of address from informal to formal." The AI applies the changes right away – you don’t have to type anything yourself. If you don’t like a change, you can undo it with a single click.

With a single click, the AI translates your entire questionnaire into another language – including questions, answer options, and the welcome and closing pages. You get a complete language version that you can then review and fine-tune. This saves a lot of time, especially for long or multilingual surveys. The translation feature is part of the Pro package.

No. Your surveys, entries, and responses are your content. We do not use your data to train any AI models—neither our own nor those of third parties.

empirio.ai can be connected to other systems in four ways: * REST API – Manage surveys and retrieve responses via HTTPS. * Webhooks – Push new responses to your own system in real time. * MCP server – Let AI agents like ChatGPT or Claude work directly with your surveys and responses. * CLI – The command-line tool @empirio-ai/cli for scripts, automations, or quick actions from the terminal. All integrations are currently in beta – endpoints and behavior may still change. You can find more information at https://www.empirio.ai/integrations, including complete developer documentation.

For everyone who doesn’t just want to use empirio.ai via the web interface, but also wants to integrate it into their own systems or workflows. Typical use cases: Developers who want to create surveys automatically or transfer responses into their own tools (CRM, data warehouse, BI tools). Companies that want to feed survey responses directly into internal systems – for example, send a Slack message after each response or pass data into reporting. Data analysts who regularly process responses further in SPSS, R, or Python and want to automate exports. Teams that work with AI agents and want to give their agents direct access to empirio.ai – via the MCP server.

The integrations are available starting with the Pro plan. For extensive or company-wide use, there is also an Enterprise plan with higher limits and additional terms. To learn more, please contact the support team at info@empirio.ai

The REST API is the classic interface for programmatic survey management. Over HTTPS you can: * Create, edit, publish, duplicate, and delete surveys * Retrieve, filter, export, and analyze responses * Calculate aggregates, statistics, and crosstabs * Export charts in various formats (PowerPoint, PDF, Word, PNG) You authenticate either with an API key (for server-to-server applications) or via OAuth 2.1 (for applications acting on behalf of users). Base URL: https://platform.empirio.ai/rest/v1 You can find the complete endpoint documentation in the developer documentation.

In the empirio.ai dashboard under "Integrations." With a single click, you can generate a new key. Important: The key is only shown once—save it somewhere secure right away (for example, in a password manager or secret store). API keys have scopes—surveys for survey operations, responses for accessing answers. When creating a key, you can define which permissions it should have.

Webhooks are the counterpart to an API: instead of you regularly polling for data, empirio.ai actively sends the data to you as soon as something happens. Specifically: as soon as a person completes a survey, empirio.ai sends a signed JSON payload to your configured URL. You can react immediately—for example, send automatic follow-up emails, write data into your CRM, or feed real-time dashboards. You can register up to three webhook endpoints per survey. Webhooks are set up under "Integrations".

If an error occurs (timeout, server error, invalid response), empirio.ai will attempt delivery up to three times with increasing intervals: immediately, then after 1 minute, then after 10 minutes. Important: Webhooks are delivered with at-least-once guarantees. If in doubt, a message will be delivered twice rather than not at all. Use the X-Empirio-Delivery-Id header to detect and ignore duplicates on your side.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol – a standard that lets AI agents access external systems directly. With our MCP server, you can connect ChatGPT, Claude, or other compatible AI hosts to your empirio.ai data. Concrete examples of what your AI agent can do: “Show me the responses from my latest customer satisfaction survey.” “Create a 5-question NPS survey for our new product and publish it.” “Export the responses from survey X as a PowerPoint deck.” “Delete the last 10 incomplete responses.” The agent then automatically calls the right tools and delivers the result to you. Server URL: https://platform.empirio.ai/mcp. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and is negotiated automatically – you don’t have to configure anything manually.

For Claude: Go to “Connectors” in the settings, add empirio.ai as a remote MCP server with the URL https://platform.empirio.ai/mcp. Authentication is handled automatically. For ChatGPT (via the Responses API): Use the MCP server entry in your tool configuration with the same URL. Once the connection is established, the AI agent has access to all features for which you grant it the necessary permissions (scopes: surveys and/or responses).

The command-line tool @empirio-ai/cli is an npm-installable interface for developers who prefer working in the terminal or want to integrate empirio.ai into scripts and CI pipelines. Installation: npm install -g @empirio-ai/cli The CLI covers all REST API operations. Authentication works either via empirio login (OAuth, for interactive use) or via the environment variable EMPIRIO_API_KEY (for CI and automation scenarios). Requirement: Node.js version 20 or newer.

To keep our platform stable for everyone, we have clear limits: * Read operations: 60 requests per minute per key or user. * Write operations: 20 requests per minute per key or user. * Creating surveys: additionally, a maximum of 10 per hour and 50 per day per account. If you exceed a limit, the API responds with a 429 status and a Retry-After header that tells you how long you need to wait. For enterprise customers with particularly high demands, we can agree on custom limits.

Yes. The integrations follow the same security standards as the rest of the platform: HTTPS only: Unencrypted connections are rejected. Bearer token authentication: API keys or OAuth tokens with clearly defined scopes. Signed webhooks: Every webhook delivery is HMAC-signed and can be verified for authenticity. Rate limits and idempotency keys: Protect against accidental duplicate executions and abusive usage. EU hosting: The integration endpoints also run on our EU-based infrastructure.

You can find the complete developer documentation – including all endpoints, examples, webhook payloads, and error codes – at empirio.ai/docs. There you can also see which question types are supported by the API, how responses are structured, and how to call filters, aggregates, and exports.

Write to us at info@empirio.ai. If you have any questions about the API or integrations, we’re happy to help—ideally include: What you’re trying to achieve Which endpoints you’re using The exact error code and error message (if available) That way we can quickly understand and reproduce the issue.

All data from empirio.ai is stored exclusively in the European Union – this applies to your account data, your surveys, the collected responses, and all analyses. This means your data is subject to the GDPR and protected from access by third countries.

Yes. We comply with all GDPR requirements – from EU-based data storage and transparent data processing to our users’ rights to access, rectification, and erasure. You can find details in our privacy policy. With empirio.ai, you can create online surveys that are fully compliant with data protection regulations.

You already have that. By registering with empirio.ai, you automatically conclude a standardized data processing agreement with us. You don’t need to request, download, or sign anything separately. This also keeps you on the safe side as a business customer when you create surveys in a corporate context – for example, employee surveys or customer feedback. You can find more information in our privacy policy.

When you create a survey with empirio.ai and collect responses, the following applies: You are the controller within the meaning of the GDPR. You decide which data you collect, from whom, and for what purposes it is used. empirio.ai is the processor. We process the data exclusively on your behalf and according to your instructions. We neither use the data for our own purposes nor do we pass it on to third parties. Concretely, this means: If you conduct an employee survey, you are responsible to your employees – we only provide the platform for you.

You can find the contact details of our data protection officer in the privacy policy. If you have any questions or concerns regarding data protection, you can contact them directly there.

By default, yes. empirio.ai does not collect any personal data from participants unless you explicitly ask for it yourself. We also do not store IP addresses together with the responses. If you need contact details – for example for a raffle or follow-up questions – you can of course include that as a regular question in your survey. You decide what is collected.

In most cases yes, if you collect personal data. Since you are considered the controller for your respondents’ data, you are required to inform them about how their data is processed – for example about the purpose of the survey, how long the data will be stored, and their rights. empirio.ai makes this easy for you: You can insert a data protection section directly into your questionnaire that displays this information and, if needed, obtains respondents’ consent. This way you are transparent with your participants and on the safe side legally.

As long as you have your account with empirio.ai. We don’t automatically delete anything in the background – your surveys, responses, and analyses remain available to you for as long as you need them. If you want to permanently archive data, you can export it at any time as CSV, Excel, PDF, or SPSS and save it locally. That way, you’re independent of online access.

You have two options: Delete individual surveys or responses: Directly in the tool with a single click. Deleted data cannot be restored. Delete your entire account: In your account under “Settings.” This will permanently remove all data – surveys, responses, and analyses. If you want to keep any data, be sure to export it before deleting your account.

empirio.ai works with all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera. The only important thing is that your browser is reasonably up to date. Very old versions can cause problems with some features. If you suspect that your browser is no longer quite up to date: an update is usually free and done in two minutes.

empirio.ai runs entirely in your browser – you don’t have to install any operating-system-specific program anywhere. That means the tool works on: * Desktop: Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. * Mobile: iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android (smartphone, tablet). Whether you’re creating surveys on your office computer, analyzing results on your laptop while on the go, or quickly checking in on your phone – you don’t need a separate app or any installation. Just open your browser, log in, and get started.

Before you contact support, a few simple steps often help: * Reload the page. Sounds trivial, but it solves a surprising number of problems. One press of F5 (or Cmd+R on a Mac) and most display issues are gone. * Clear your browser cache. Sometimes old data gets stuck in the browser and causes strange effects. Clear the cache, reload the page – done. * Try a different browser. If something doesn’t work in Chrome, quickly test it in Firefox or Safari. That way you can find out whether it’s the software or the browser. * Update your browser to the latest version. Outdated browsers cause more problems than you’d think. An update can work wonders. If none of that helps, write to us – we’ll take care of it.
